Like the box says – bright, aromatic and lemony. Pretty mild herbaceous-rooty taste. Definitely needs 2 bags to a mug.

Yaaaaaaay, derk! I haven’t seen you in forever! I miss you!

Leafhopper

Yes, it’s good to see you back on Steepster! :)

Hello, friends :) How are you? What’s the most memorable tea you’ve had lately?

Because of Leafhopper’s high praises, I splurged on several green teas from Seven Cups this year and have been making my way through those. The Meng Ding Mao Feng (Feather Peak) really stood out to me and I hope to review it soon enough. I’ll be roadtripping to Arizona in October for a wedding and would love to stop by Seven Cups’ physical shop in Tucson.

I have 2 kittens on my chest as I type this!

gmathis

Been missing you!

Kittens??? More about kitties, please!

Leafhopper

I’m doing okay. My most memorable teas this summer have been the Gu Zhu Zi Sun from Seven Cups and some green teas from The Sweetest Dew. I also bought two teas from Meng Ding, a green and a yellow, but I forget what they’re called. The Meng Ding Jin Jun Mei from Camellia Sinensis was also quite good. I’d spend way too much money if I ever ended up in the Seven Cups store!

Congratulations on your new kittens!

Kittens?! Picks or it didn’t happen. :-)

My mother was recently gifted by the Cat Distribution System, and said cat turned out to be a nursing mother (likely dumped in the forest near my mom’s yard for being preggars). She only brought around a single kitten (probably the only survivor of the litter) so my mom decided to take in both momma and son. They sure are stinkin’ cute.

My old lady has been prescribed liver meds and since I live alone and have no friends or family nearby, trying to medicate her by myself has proved an impossible task. Every day is a battle. Anyone out there want to come to Southern Idaho to hold a cat? Can pay in tea.

I am happy to see you here again! Sumibi Houjicha that you shared with me stands out of the teas I had recently. As I am working recently late and come home late, I prefer to drink caffeine-free teas or herbals and I have a plenty of Basilur fruit infusions with me and they are also great.

Grabbed a bag of this from the recent tea box. Even though it expired in 2017, it still tastes pretty nice! Earthy and fresh. Not one I would buy a box of, but the flavor was quite refreshing to drink while I was exercising today. General earthy rootiness, not bad. Not a hint of lemon though.

Herbal tea of the morning. I think I will try to drink a bit less caffeine than I did yesterday, but I feel like I need to drink a lot of fluids. I guess it’s herbal tea & decafs this morning, especially since it’s cold in my apartment.

This is just a basic herbal concoction that is supposed to be good for your liver with different plants like burdock, dandelion, cleavers and stinging nettle. The lemon myrtle is the only thing that gives it much flavor. this is better with a little sweetener, but does that cancel out the effects of the detox? I guess that’s a personal decision. I don’t know if this really works but it certainly can’t hurt anything (unless you have a pre-existing liver or gastro ailment) … Flavor is not wonderful but bearable. I used two teabags in a 10 oz. mug and steeped for 15 minutes per the directions.

Neither the best nor worst tasting medicinal herbal tea I’ve tried. Like most, drinking it hot with a generous spoonful of local honey helps.

I’ve woken with swollen glands for the last 4 days in a row, which subside as the day progresses. I actually suspect it may be a reaction to dairy (which I’ve been eating much more of than usual). So, I figured this tea may help (or at least wouldn’t hurt). At least it makes me feel like I am doing something. And I am planning to get serious about cutting out dairy (except maybe goat/sheep’s milk cheeses) starting tomorrow. If that doesn’t stop the cycle of swelling, I guess I’ll go to the doctor :-/

Isn’t dairy a bitch? I had to cut it out too because it was giving me horrible acne :/ I still have some cheese occasionally (it is really difficult to avoid it in meals) but I eat very little of it… And, on the whole, I think the reduction has a positive effect on me. Adult human bodies cannot deal with dairy very well.
