OMGsrlsy I’m puzzled as to what I did to deserve this large package of tea from you, however I’m so thrilled at the same time! Yummy chocolaty goodness just before bed is always welcome.
Flavors: Chocolate, Cinnamon
Preparation
Ooh, I’ve wanted to try this for a bit now. It’s been in my sipdown container for a few weeks, and I’ve just been making my way through things as I can. It’s got quite the lineage, this particular cuppa – there are three names on the bag: OMGsrsly, Sil and then myself. I love it when great tea gets swapped all over the country and back! So much fun.
To the tea. It’s almost a chai, more chocolately than chai however, plus a nice thickness from the huge piece of cardamom in this particular teaspoon. It’s creamy and savory, sweet and dessert-like.. I may need to (finally) go find Steam and get some more.
EDIT: What?! This is rooibos? Jeepers. Had I put that together, I would have enjoyed this long ago. Most definitely on my to-order list now.
1 tsp in 12oz., because the sample package sent to me shared I should steep 1.5 tsp in 250mL.
Flavors: Chocolate, Cinnamon, Cream
Preparation
Oh, this one is also awesome steeped in milky stuff. I’ve left it ~30-40 minutes before, then heated it again and strained it to drink.
Never thought I would be sad to sipdown a puerh but here we are! Thanks again to OMGsrsly for sending me a sample of this one.
This was just as delicious this time around! Mmmm berry nut bread. :) It was even tasty as it got cold as well.
Preparation
Thanks to OMGsrsly for sending over a sample of this one. I have to admit, I’ve been avoiding it a little bit because puerhs, especially flavored puerhs, still scare me a little bit. But I have a bit of a stomach ache and figured now was as good a time as any to go for it. :)
Well color me impressed. Not only does this tea actually smell good to me (so rare with puerh), it tastes even better. Sweet and nutty and really quite tasty. It doesn’t read as distinctly strawberry, but more like a berry and hazelnut tart. The puerh does have a breadiness, but it could also be described as a pastry flavor. I am amazed. I enjoy it more the more I drink it. This may be the only puerh I’ve rated in the 90s. Thanks so much for sharing, OMGsrsly!
Note: actually 1.5 tsp for 12oz.
Flavors: Berries, Bread, Nuts
Preparation
People seem to be posting a lot with the new system… I had a lot to read through to get back to where I left off yesterday when Steepster went down for updates. I noticed it stopped updating my iPhone app, but you never know whether updates are going to be more behind the scenes or up front. I have to say the new update looks very familiar to me, as they were clearly trying a lot of it out in the app beta.
Anyway, this tea. I got a sample of this from OMGsrsly in our recent swap, and I pulled it out this morning. I did probably overleaf a bit (a bit more than 3tsp), but that’s fine because it came out awesomely. Sweet, smooth, mapley, yum! The black base had a nice malty undertone as well that served this one well. I haven’t had a maple tea that I really loved before, but this one certainly matches that requirement. I had it this morning while I also had some Vermont maple cream on a bagel, and it was the perfect match. Thanks again OMGsrsly for sharing this one!
Preparation
Sad sipdown. (203)
This is honestly the best maple tea I have ever had. The base is present but subtle and it allows the maple to really shine. That is what this tea is, pure, unadulterated, maple syrup flavor. Awesome! Thank you OMGsrsly for sharing this with me. The rest is being passed along to spread the love. It will be missed though.
I tried increasing the rating but the bar is not particularly iPad friendly. I would bump this to a 78 at least.
Preparation
I was looking at comments and it seems like I am one of many who was supplied this tea but the very generous OMGsrsly. I was a little hesitant to try this because I find maple is a hard flavor to accomplish as there is a fine line between not enough flavor and cloying. This is slightly to the former side of that line but really right on the edge. I taste mostly the base but the smell of maple goodness is just so strong that I am happy nonetheless. I don’t think I would seek this out but I could definitely sniff this cup all day (that didn’t sound as weird in my head). Thank you OMGsrsly!
Preparation
The two are actually really different. This reminded me more of Pancake Breakfast (in smell only though)
You’re welcome! I really like pushing the tea to “cloying” by adding sweetened condensed milk and icing it. Heh.
It’s one they blend themselves, and yes, I send it to everyone!
I’m finishing off the last of the generous sample OMGsrsly sent to me. This is really good today. Lots of maple flavor and a nice base tea that is silky smooth. I added a little sugar to my cup and am happily enjoying every sip.
This tea has made me reconsider my feelings toward maple. I was never a big fan if it, but now I’m thinking I’m going to need some sort of maple goodness at least by fall probably sooner.
Thanks again OMGsrsly!
I took OMGsrsly’s advice and added a little sweetened condensed milk to my tea this morning. Actually, she suggested adding it to iced tea, and I added it to hot tea. Regardless it was a great idea. It absolutely takes this tea to another level. So insanely good. It became a smooth, creamy, maple-y sweet cup of yumminess and easily one of my favorite dessert teas.
Preparation
Confession time… I have never been a big fan of maple. I’ve always found it to be jaw clinchingly sweet even it small quantities. Please don’t hate me. Since I’ve never been a maple fan I’ve always avoided maple teas. Big mistake. This is some yummy stuff.
There’s plenty of sweetness from the maple, but compared to maple syrup it’s fairly low key and easy to enjoy. It did throw me off that the base tea doesn’t have a distinct taste. Normally this bugs me, but in this case it works. There was a lovely smoothness to the tea, and no astrigncy or bitterness. I added a little milk which enhanced the smoothness even more. So good.
Thank you, OMGsrsly for sending this tea my way and in such a generous amount that I can enjoy several more cups. I’m going to hide it from the rest of my family so I can keep it all to myself. :)
I pulled this one out as a treat last night – latte style. Hadn’t filled my “milk” quota for the day and was craving something rich and creamy. This did the trick!
Another one from last night. This particular batch has a lot of cinnamon sticks, so i pulled a few out. The brew is slightly different than i’m used to – i think maybe this was from the bottom of the batch. Still though, it’s tasty and i still love it. Someday, i’ll get sick of it….but until then…bring it! :)
Final Count: 118
i keep forgetting to make this as a latte, even though i know i love it that way. Not that i don’t love it brewed in water, ‘cause i do but sometimes you just want a latte (although i clearly don’t or i’d remember lol). Still loving this one – it’s just different enough from other herbals blends that i can’t see getting sick of this one any time soon. :)
last cup of yesterday evening so now the real fun can begin haha. I pulled this one out because i was craving it…there’s just something about this blend that makes me squee in delight. I can’t even explain it lol. omgsrsly sends me refills of this, but at SOME point i may just have to start buying it since i seem to be drinking through this relatively quickly haha.
Final Count: 150
lol i am not allowed to buy tea!! but i will be looking in to vancouver again…maybe we can afford two trips out there…esp if i can steal MissB’s house lol
I also had this tea last night, brewed hot…and it made me realise how much i love this tea when it’s cold brewed, steeped in part apple juice. LOL I vastly prefer it that way for that sweet, sour tang. Just trying to help keep my system primed and ready to keep fighting all the sick that is going on at work these days.

Aww, this is a heartwarming tale of joy.
Share as you wish! :) I need other Steam Tea House dealers on Steepster!
