AC Perch 2025 Advent Day 17: Black Colombia

This is very smooth with plenty of depth and no astringency. There’s an almost fruity flavour coming through as well, almost like a natural/unwashed coffee.

This has a tangy malty quality and an overall smooth medium-bodied taste. The rested has a decent amount of flavour. Thanks Cameron for sharing this one!

AC Perch 2025 Advent Day 16: Rooibos Vanilla

The vanilla here has a mellow sweetness that comes across as quite soft. The rooibos is just a touch out of balance and overtakes the vanilla ever so slightly. A nice enough tea, but not for the cupboard.

This one is unique, but doesn’t come across as a butter tart to me. I grew up eating many a butter tart, and I personally think this is missing a buttery/creamy aspect. It’s a tasty enough cup. A cold brewed resteep is also decently flavourful.

AC Perch 2025 Advent Day 15: White Darjeeling

Smooth, fresh, subtle floral, with sweetness at the end of the sip. The resteep is still decently flavourful. We’d order this one!

AC Perch 2025 Advent Day 14: Perch Christmas Tea

This was labelled ‘Perchs Christmas Tea’, but I’m quite sure it’s this one. Ever so slightly astringent clove water.

This was a sample in our advent order. The lychee is a great addition and comes through clearly. A nice twist on an EG.

AC Perch 2025 Advent Day 13: Breakfast Tea

This is a basic breakfast tea, little astringency and relatively smooth. I wasn’t in the mood to add milk, but I’m sure it would’ve been nice.

AC Perch 2025 Advent Day 12: Cranberry

The dry smell was juicy cranberry. The steeped smell was a bit diminished and the flavour was quite subtle. There were hints of cranberry against a light-medium bodied smooth black base. Really lovely overall and one we would consider for the cupboard.

Thanks for sharing Cameron!

This one started out nicely enough, subtle maltiness and subtle floralness. As it cooled, a slight smoky flavour came forword and the remainder of the cup was dumped.

Profile

Bio

I love black and oolong (unroasted/green and red preferable to roasted) teas, followed by green or red rooibos, herbals, whites, and subtly flavoured greens.

Likes:
Blackcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, peach, apricot, rhubarb, passionfruit, redcurrant, fig, and most fruits in general, maple, creaminess, hay, biscuit, lavender, and cacao/dark chocolate.

I enjoy bergamot when paired with flavours that mellow it.

Dislikes:
Any smokiness at all, stevia, too much blackberry leaf, rose, jasmine, ginger (except in chai), cinnamon-heavy teas, anything cloying or fake/candy-like.

I’m vegan and have a potato allergy, so I avoid animal products in tea, along with sprinkles as these often have potato starch (I’ll happily pick them out of blends).
