From white2tea

The return of our sold out Glass House, a blend of small batch shou Puer from Yunnan province.

Excellent balance of value and quality, Glass House is a milky shou with plenty of body and nuanced notes of creme brulee. This shou could use a few months to calm down, but is right on the edge of being ready to drink.

Each mini is ~7 grams of tea.

Grandpa Style!

I really, really enjoyed the sweet, rich and creamy notes of the 2023 version of this ripe pu’erh tea, so trying the 2025 pressing was a must for me. I find this year’s to be a bit darker and thicker, with slightly bitter and woodsy notes to go alongside the velvety smooth notes of slightly caramelized sweetened condensed milk. Definitely rich, but with enough burliness to still feel grounded.

One thing about this awkward post-Christmas but pre-New Year’s break is that my sleep schedule is even more messed up than usual, which has resulted in some pretty late night tea. The plus side is that I get pretty photos like this one, with the warm glow of the lights on my apartment’s Christmas tree! Seems like a fair enough trade-off…

Gongfu! Diving into the Shulloween bag of minis today, and settled on the lone 2025 Glasshouse having heard good things about it. Prepared with a 10s rinse.

1st steep (10s) – creamy, smooth, lightly nutty
2nd steep (15s) – creamy, smooth, nuttiness more defined with hints of hazelnut. Background floral?
3rd steep (20s) – creamy, hazelnut
4th steep (30s) – smooth, creamy. Nuttiness diminished.
5th steep (40s) – smooth, creamy
6th steep (60s) – liquor pale orange now; sweet, smooth, creamy

I put the leaves in my thermos for a final killsteep of ~2.5 hours. The result is sweet and creamy with a very slight background of hazelnut. I thoroughly enjoyed this session, and would absolutely drink Glasshouse again in the future. It would be a great option for those looking for a non-earthy shou, with its delicious hazelnut cream notes predominating throughout.
