49 Tasting Notes
Very similar to the laoshan green in flavor. The green is a spinach and mushroom salad, while the black is more of a spinach and mushroom crepe with sort if an aged cheese flavor added on. I’m enjoying my first steep so far
Preparation
It’s actually chilly in Louisiana, and it’s mid-July! That calls for a breakfast of yummy hazelnutty pumpkin spice tea!
This stuff is delicious. I just bought it this week, enticed by the thought of hazelnut and pumpkin spice together. It certainly delivers.
I’m drinking it with steamed milk and a tiny tad of honey. At this point there won’t be any left when fall actually arrives.
Flavors: Hazelnut, Pumpkin Spice
Preparation
So I’m on a tea binge… Who are you to judge?
It’s a rainy day and my husband has gone fishing for the weekend.
Thus, I drink tea.
I ordered this one simply because I love earl grey, I love almond, and I love cinnamon.
This tea is strong, unlike my other tea trials of the day. I’m not really detecting the almond.
Like others have mentioned, this is a great tea for a rainy, cold afternoon by the fire.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Floral
Preparation
I received this today in my verdant tea of the month box. It’s my first nice green tea ever! First off, the bag opens to the smell of mushrooms and spinach.
I’m thinking that, once again, I have not used enough leaves. The tea was very watery… I have no reliable way to measure in grams, so today I ordered a scale on amazon.
On second steeping, I used less water and tasted a smooth mushroom flavor.
Flavors: Butter, Mushroom, Spinach
Preparation
This tea was too weak this morning. I used only one teaspoon in 8 oz. I did love the flavor, and I’m planning to try more later…
So my next cup was delicious and chocolatey. I used 2 teaspoons in 8 oz water for about 5 minutes.
I love it…. It’s double chocolate extra chai layers of goodness!
Flavors: Chocolate, Cinnamon, Clove, Coconut
Preparation
I received a sample of this in my Adagio box yesterday. I’m enjoying it for breakfast with a little steamed milk. I think it needs more than one teaspoon in 8 oz for the best flavor, especially when adding milk. I’m loving the woody puerh flavor next to the nutmeg/cinnamon. My second cup is steeping now….
Second cup: wow!…. It has chai taste, but the subsequent steeping is more puerh and flavorful… I think because the spice has worn off… Yum! This is fun
Preparation
I drank this before bed because I had just received the box from adagio and couldn’t wait to try something. This is the only non-caf tea that I bought.
…. I still couldn’t sleep… Maybe it was just due to excitement over all my new teas?
This is very delicious. Lemony orange chai, I suppose.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Citrus Zest, Clove, Nuts
Preparation
I’m a true newbie, and this is my first pu-erh. I bought it at World Market knowing that it probably isn’t the highest quality tea, but I enjoy it. After trying this one, I am inspired to order some of the recommended puerhs.
I’m way too new to tea to be very good at describing the flavor, but some day I will compose a new tasting note here.
