Sipped on this as an iced tea earlier this morning. We made a bit pitcher of it in the tea lab to all share with each other, and the simplicity of that bold black tea with the sweet Jolly Rancher style of watermelon was something we could all appreciate.

Cold Brew!

Another goodie that I was recently gifted by someone visiting the US! It’s from a chain that, as far as I can tell, is basically just known for having a TON of different fruit, milk and sweet teas all ready to go on tap in these giant carafes. Certainly looks interesting.

This tea comes in what is essentially a very large/oversized teabag that’s been portioned out to make a pitcher of tea. It’s just plain black tea with flavouring in it. Definitely smells sweet and juicy with an almost Jolly Rancher watermelon note.

I cold brewed this instead of making it iced, but the result was still very delicious. It’s simple, but simple doesn’t always mean bad. Definitely sweet, but much less sweet than you’d maybe expect given how INTENSE the dry leaf smelled. Much more of the brisk, malty and floral black tea comes through and that balances the candy-type watermelon notes considerably. In the summer on a hot day this would be very, very chuggable.
